Buckets’ Safety Brigade had the privilege of attending Texas LAFS conference this week.

Our team geared up to connect with other leaders from around TX & the country. Our very own puppet master led a breakout session passing on his 20+ years of knowledge.

We loved learning, networking, and bringing back fresh ideas to keep our communities even safer.

What an outstanding event! Thank you Texas LAFS. See you next year.

Today marks 9 years since we lost Firefighter/Paramedic James McKenzie on Grapevine Lake.

James was more than a colleague — he was a dedicated public servant and a beloved member of our fire family. Many of us had the honor of working alongside him as he served our community with courage, compassion, and unwavering commitment.

As we remember James, we ask you to help honor his legacy by making a simple, life-saving choice: wear a life jacket when enjoying Grapevine Lake or any body of water. It’s a small act that can make a big difference.

Rest easy, Brother McKenzie. We’ll see you on the top floor.

Join your Grapevine Fire Fighters this Saturday, December 7 at Fire Station 1, 701 Turner Road, for their annual pancake breakfast. Enjoy warm pancakes prepared on-site by the firefighters, photos with Fire apparatus, and a meet-and-greet opportunity with several of your first responders. Parking details are listed below.

Firehouse Pancakes with Grapevine Firefighters -

Join the Grapevine Fire Department on Saturday, December 2 between 8am and 10:30am at Fire Station 3, 3100 Timberline Drive for a delicious pancake breakfast. Parking will be available at Timberline Elementary.

Enjoy photo opportunities with various fire apparatus and some of our mighty firefighters. Donations (benefitting Grapevine Fire Honor Guard and Buckets' Safety Brigade) will be accepted.
