Warmer temperatures mean our community is bursting with new life - from kittens and puppies to baby bunnies, birds, and other wildlife! If you come across a baby animal, here are a few quick tips to help keep them safe:
🐾 Baby animals are often not orphaned. Many wild animal parents leave briefly to search for food and will return.
🐾 Before moving a baby animal, observe from a distance and look for signs that a parent may still be caring for them.
🐾 Healthy baby birds with feathers may be “fledglings” learning to fly and usually do not need rescue.
🐾 If you find a litter of kittens, mom may be nearby. Monitor from a safe distance before intervening.
🐾 Never feed wildlife or very young animals
as improper care can do more harm than good.
