Petition packets and instructions can be picked up from the Township Clerk's office at Grass Lake Charter Township. These are due JULY 21.

🚧 DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENT ALERT! 🚧

Parking Lot B behind Copper Nail and the south side Michigan Ave businesses is scheduled for sealcoating and asphalt improvements beginning Thursday evening, June 4 through Tuesday evening, June 9.

⚠️ IMPORTANT:
The lot must be completely cleared of ALL vehicles by Thursday evening, June 4.

Any vehicles remaining Friday morning will unfortunately need to be towed so contractors can begin work on schedule.

Additional details:
• Sealcoating will take place in phases on Sunday and Monday
• No vehicle or pedestrian traffic will be allowed on sealed sections for approximately 24 hours after application
• The lot is expected to reopen Tuesday evening, June 9

Please help spread the word to employees, customers, residents, and upstairs tenants so everyone can plan ahead.

We know temporary closures can be inconvenient, but we’re excited to see these downtown improvements moving forward and appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation during the process! 🧡

Utility Assistance Programs

Winter can become stressful with high utility costs. Depending on your household income, you may qualify for assistance:

• State Emergency Relief: State Emergency Relief is a crisis intervention program that helps with energy-related expenses like heating fuel, electricity, and home repairs. Those who can demonstrate need are encouraged to apply online through MI Bridges.
• Michigan Energy Assistance Program (MEAP): The Michigan Public Service Commission administers the MEAP, helping establish and administer statewide programs that provide energy assistance and self-sufficiency services to eligible low-income households. To seek help, contact 2-1-1 or your utility company to find programs in your area.
• Weatherization Assistance Program: The Weatherization Assistance Program provides free home energy-conservation services to low-income Michigan homeowners and renters. These services can reduce energy use and lower utility bills. Some of the services include insulation, air leakage reduction, smoke detectors, and dryer venting. You can contact your local Community Action Agency to start the application process.

Information on assistance with home repairs, heat and utility bills, relocation, home ownership, burials, home energy, and eligibility requirements.
