WOW!!!!! Together, our community raised more than $240,000 during IFM's May Matching Campaign! 💛🥰

Thanks to several generous donors who increased our match pool throughout the month, every dollar donated was matched.

As CalFresh benefits and other food assistance programs are being reduced for many of our neighbors, your generosity provides critical stability and ensures IFM can continue serving our community with compassion and dignity.

While uncertainty around food insecurity continues to grow, you've shown that something even stronger exists here: a community that cares.

Thank you for believing in our mission, supporting your neighbors, and helping ensure everyone has access to wholesome, supplemental groceries.

We are beyond grateful. đź’›

Here I go getting emotional again! It's hard to render me speechless, but here I am, struggling to find words that can properly express how immensely grateful everyone at IFM is for this outpouring of love. Thank you just doesn't seem big enough! We really do love you, Nevada County! 🫶

‼️ Important Changes to CalFresh ‼️
Starting June 1, 2026, to continue receiving food benefits, some adults may need to meet approved work, training, or volunteer activities to continue receiving CalFresh food benefits if you:

• Are between the ages of 18 and 64, and
• Do not have a disability.
• Are not responsible for the care of a dependent child under the age of 14 in your CalFresh Household and don't meet any other exemption

This is called the Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD) rule.

We know these changes may seem confusing and we will be navigating them alongside you. One thing remains certain: we are here for you. We will continue supporting our neighbors with compassion, dignity, and care every step of the way.

If you are worried about food access, please know you are not alone. As we learn more, we will continue sharing updates and resources with our community. đź’›

Your kindness goes even further through May 31st! đź’›

When you donate to IFM’s May Matching Campaign, every dollar is doubled and thanks to IFM’s strong buying power, your gift helps provide even more wholesome groceries to local families, seniors, and neighbors facing food insecurity. Your impact isn’t just doubled… it’s more like tripled! 🥰

We’re also honored to have been voted Best Nonprofit in Nevada County by readers of The Union for the second year in a row, while earning a 100% score on Charity Navigator for accountability, leadership, and community impact. 🫶

Did you know IFM buys eggs in bulk at discounted rates to help stretch every dollar? 🥚💛

Because the eggs come in large flats, we rely on donated egg cartons to repackage them for our client families. Clean, empty egg cartons are incredibly helpful and always appreciated!

There are lots of other easy ways to support IFM too:
🛍 Donate your clean grocery bags
♻️ Drop off your recyclables at Peace Lutheran Church 828 W Main St. this Saturday (weather permitting!) 9a-12p - and every last Saturday of the month!
🥫 Donate nonperishable food

The best days and times to donate are:
• Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7am–9am & 1:30pm–2:30pm
• Tuesday & Thursday: 7am–11am
• Saturday: 8am–9am & 3pm–4pm

We have a donation bin located to the right of the building near the shed for convenient drop-offs.

Thank you for helping IFM care for our community in so many different ways! 🥰

05/23/2026

As new federal SNAP/CalFresh changes take effect beginning June 1st, many individuals and families in our community may face new barriers to accessing food assistance. Expanded work requirements and benefit limitations could leave more neighbors turning to IFM for help putting food on the table.

We are already seeing the strain that rising grocery, childcare, and healthcare costs are placing on families, and we know the need for supplemental groceries will continue to grow in the months ahead.

That’s why IFM’s May Matching Campaign is so important.

Every donation made until May 31st will be matched dollar for dollar, helping us prepare for the increased demand for our services and ensuring we can continue providing nutritious food, compassion, and support to our community when it’s needed most.

Giving now helps us stock our shelves, support our programs, and stand ready for the challenges ahead.

If you’ve been thinking about making a gift, this is the time. Together, we can make sure no one in our community faces hunger alone. 💛💛

Your donation feeds more than just stomachs, it feeds hope, strength, and community. Join us in the fight against hunger. Give today and make an impact! Dear Friends & Neighbors, No one in our community should go hungry but right now, more families than ever are struggling to put food on the table.....

Thank you to everyone who donated diapers and wipes in honor of baby Moses this Passover! Thanks to your incredible generosity, 2,628 wipes and 1,168 diapers were donated to IFM to help support local families and little ones in our community. đź’›

It feels especially meaningful as May is Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Month, a reminder that small acts of care and compassion can make a big difference for children and families facing difficult times.

A heartfelt thank you to the Nevada County Jewish Community Center - Congregation B'Nai Harim and to everyone who contributed to this effort. Your kindness and support continue to strengthen our community every day. đź’•
