NID saves over half a million dollars 💰
Great news from our mid year budget update: reduced expenses have generated more than $500,000 in savings for 2026. After reviewing second quarter figures and incorporating updates from the FY2025 audit, NID refined revenues, expenses, and fund balances to keep this year’s budget accurate and on track.

The Barbara Schmidt Millar Women’s Triathlon & 5K returns to Cascade Shores on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026. To keep participants safe, NID will temporarily close:
• Cascade Shores Launch: Sat, Aug. 29 at 3 p.m. – Sun, Aug. 30 at noon
• Scotts Flat Campground Launch: Sun, Aug. 30, 7:30–10 a.m.

Divers in French Lake? Now that’s a rare sight. 💧
NID recently sent certified divers beneath the surface of French Lake — NID’s oldest reservoir — to repair an 89‑year‑old hydraulic actuator that operates the low‑level outlet gate at French Dam.
Built in 1858–1859, the dam remains the oldest still in use in NID’s system. The work will help restore reliable operation of the gate and keep this historic piece of NID’s water system working for years to come.

💧A Change Is Coming to Winter Irrigation Billing
As we head into the winter irrigation season, NID customers receiving winter water service will see a billing change.
Beginning September 2026, winter irrigation water will be billed monthly.
Starting in 2027, all irrigation water customers will move to monthly billing.

Winter irrigation billing begins in September. 💧
If you receive winter irrigation service, you'll see a change this year. Beginning in September 2026, NID will begin monthly billing for winter water service.

Starting in 2027, all raw water customers will transition to monthly billing based on when water is delivered.
