The Turner Woods Park Project

The Turner Woods Park Project GSBHT is working toward the creation of a community park for all of Gray to enjoy! IN ORDER TO TRANSFORM YOUR PARK INTO A CITY, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

Gray Station Better Hometown and PLAN (People Looking Ahead Now) Cultural Arts & Leisure Committee are taking steps to develop a city park in Gray. The organizations would like to transform the old track and football field on Turnerwoods Road into a passive park for the entire community to enjoy. A conceptual drawing was prepared by the Department of Community Affairs to give citizens an opportuni

ty to see the possibilities of the green space. The organizations are very excited about the opportunities that TURNERWOODS PARK will bring to the community! The Park will include: walking trails, recreation areas, a handicap-accessible playground, an area for pets to play, a pavilion area for cookouts, birthday parties, and other celebrations. The benefits of having a Parks and Recreation facility in our community are numerous:

•· A place for fun, exercise, entertainment, and socializing
•· Keeping kids off of the streets
•· Sense of community

Parks and open spaces create a high quality of life that attracts tax-paying businesses and residents to communities (corporate CEOs say that employee quality of life is the third most important factor in locating a new business.) Either fill out your comments below and submit, or visit our online petition HERE. LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

Are you guys still interested in having a nice passive park in Gray? If so, we may have another location in mind.

Jonathan Pitts is still an Administrator on this page. We are working to make Patrice Martin Briley an Administrator as well. I (Heather Busby) will be removing myself from this page. I wish everyone the best of luck with this project and I hope to be able to assist in any way I can in the future!

Did anyone send a letter to their city council representative?

Team Turnerwoods,
We are 69 friends strong and I know we can develop a plan to start this project. Our first order of business is to obtain support from the city council. Therefore, we need to send city council at least 69 letters in support of our project this month.
Give me your thoughts.
