Smoke from wildfires in Canada has prompted an air quality alert across the state today. If you're applying for FEMA disaster assistance, you don't need to go outside to visit a Michigan Disaster Recovery Center (MI DRC).

Residents can now apply for FEMA assistance.

Crawford County residents as well as Michigan homeowners and renters with uninsured damage to their primary home, personal property loss or disaster-related emergency needs due to the April storms and flooding may apply for FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) assistance.

The fastest way to apply is online at DisasterAssistance.gov or call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362 for assistance.

UPDATE: The Crawford Disaster Recovery Center will be permanently closing at the end of the day Tuesday August 4, 2026 at 6 pm. The next closest open DRC is in Kalkaska as listed below.

I have to collect data for the State and FEMA. I have a very small window so dont wait to long. I may have a way to help your organization. Please DM me on here.
