September’s book is "Tuesday’s Child" by Dale Mayer. What would you do if you could experience a murder through the eyes of the victim? That’s the unsettling premise behind this month’s Book Club selection. Samantha Blair has spent her life hiding her psychic abilities, but when she begins experiencing the final moments of murder victims, she finds herself pulled into a terrifying mystery. Now, she must convince a skeptical detective that what she knows could help catch a killer.

If you provide care for a family member or loved one, join us for our Caregiver Conference on September 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

This gathering is designed to give caregivers a chance to connect with others who understand the responsibilities of caregiving, learn useful information, and share experiences. On-site respite care will be available.

You don't have to navigate caregiving alone. For details, contact Sarah Po***ck at 989-348-7123.

Sponsored by Molina Healthcare of Michigan and the Michigan Association of Senior Centers.

The Crawford County Commission on Aging will be holding an all-staff training on Thursday, September 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Because staff will be attending this required training, lunch will not be served at the Senior Center that day. Breakfast will be served as usual.

Bingo will also be moved to Tuesday, September 1, instead of Thursday, September 3.

Thank you for your understanding.

Keeping Seniors and Pets Together

Aug. 26 is National Dog Day! It's a chance to celebrate the comfort, companionship, and unconditional love pets bring to our lives.

For many older adults, a beloved pet is an important source of connection and emotional support. Our COA Pet Program helps homebound older adults access pet care and assists with keeping their pets safe and healthy, so they don’t have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pet. Please consider donating to the COA’s Pet Program. You may contact Tammy Findlay @ 989-348-7123 for further information.
