Ashley Johnson, Natural Resource Specialist with the Grayson Lake US Army Corp of Engineers, led our June Hike & Learn in the Grayson Lake Wildlife Management Area. Hike highlights included wildlife food plots, fritillary butterflies, tadpoles & toads, and a dung beetle rolling dung.
Instead of hiking in July, we’ll be participating in the FIVCO Healthier Streams for Healthier Kentucky evet on July 21 in Elliott County. Come join us!

Last year, Bob Flaugher represented Carter County at the Mid-South Beef Leadership Conference. As part of our county action plan from the conference, one goal was to offer a pregnancy check clinic to help local producers learn how to draw blood samples for testing and use chute-side kits.
On Friday, Bob hosted a hands-on demonstration at Flaugher Brothers Farm, where participants had the opportunity to practice blood sampling and work directly with the testing kits.
We appreciate Bob and his family's willingness to share their knowledge to support our local beef producers!

Little Sandy Beekeepers Association members set up a demonstration hive at the Extension Office on Tuesday. The work day was followed by a presentation from KSU Entomologist Dr. Thomas Webster on probiotics.
