While reading the news this morning it saddened me to see that all ready in the month of January the state of Louisiana has had 6 confirmed deaths due to house fires. That being said, as this cold weather sets in on us please be mindful or fire hazards and fire safety within the home. Take a second and check your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms, go over a fire escape plan with your children. It only takes a couple of minutes. If you do not have smoke detectors please reach out. Serveral of the Fire Departments within the parish have some that we can install at no charge. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones having to deal with these losses.
