Today was the Helping Hands annual Field Day where students rotated to each station including:
A sensory walk…our students put their toes in things like spaghetti, flour, and rice. This also gave them the opportunity to practice taking off shoes and socks, and putting on shoes and socks.
An obstacle course… practicing our balance, jumping, crawling, and coordination while running and switching directions.
Water bottle bowling… Eye-hand coordination and counting how many pins they knocked over.
Finding buried treasure…digging out a necklace they could keep, and coins they could count and put back into the pool. Check out our pictures!

PM class: Helping Hands went on a learning journey to Rosewood Ranch this afternoon! Eric gave us a wagon ride pulled by horses. We watched a horse riding demonstration; looked at horses, a calf, chickens, and tractors. We checked out gazebos, beehives, fountains, strawberries, apple trees, and much much more! What a great opportunity to learn new vocabulary!!

AM classes: Today Helping Hands went on a learning journey to Rosewood Ranch! What a great farm learning opportunity. They saw horses, cattle, tractors, strawberry plants and got to go on a hay rack ride!

We are so proud of Maria Pasos!! She graduated from Wichita State University with her Bachelor of Art degree in Education!! She is also a 1st generation graduate! Maria has been a faithful para here at Helping Hands and now is going to be a teacher at our new Little Panthers Preschool. Welcome aboard as an ECSE teacher, Maria!!!

PM Classes: Our students went to the rec center today where they played outside on the playground for 45 minutes and then inside at the Imagination Station for 45 minutes. So many important skills can be learned or practiced from this experience, including: climbing, working together, strengthening, motor planning, taking turns, balance, coordination, safety, experimentation and creativity. You can see many of these skills in the pictures. Check them out!
