"Update on Dad: The doctors were able to remove the breathing tube and he is doing very well. He told me he loved me! He’s been saying a little more here and there. We’ve been telling him all about your prayers and love sent his way! Monday they will bring in a physical therapist to get him on his feet and a speech therapist. Taking this one step at a time!
God is so good! Bigger than our highs and lows!"
ORIGINAL POST 3/3/18 4:40pm - PRAYER WARRIORS NEEDED! We were notified this morning that GFPD Chaplain David Saenz in experiencing a medical crisis. Saenz's daughter gave us permission to post her message below. We are grateful for the co-worker that recognized there was a problem and our comrades at Great Falls Emergency Services and Benefis Health System for their expert care. Please keep Chaplain Saenz and his family in your prayers.
"So, I want to update all our our family and friends with what’s going on right now. Yesterday morning my dad was rushed to the hospital because of being disoriented and having a headache. He was given a scan only to see that he was born with an abnormal amount of blood vessels in the back of his head and it formed a blood clot that burst. Something you can’t foresee or prevent but just tackle when it happens. The drs said they were able to catch it right away because of the coworker of his that called 911 as soon as she realized something was wrong. They were able to stabilize him but didn’t have the capabilities of addressing the issue. The closest specialist was here in Seattle so they flew him and my mom out here yesterday. We got the best of the best chief of neurosurgery operating on him last night and they placed a clip to stop the blood bleeding into his brain. Everything was successful and Gods hands were upon the surgical team.
The next step is to get him breathing on his own. He will be in the ICU for a couple of weeks and then they will fly him back to Montana to start therapy. It will be a long process.
Thank you for all your prayers and continued prayers and we appreciate everyone who has been there for our family so far. We serve a BIG GOD and this is just part of my dads testimony. My dad is the rock of our family, he is a pastor of a church and chaplain for the city. He is the president of a Christian school and lives his life to serve our God first and his family. Thank you! ❤️"
