Today, the Fort Jackson community honored Military Working Dog(MWD) Kex, with a processional through post. Emergency services vehicles formed the procession and members of the Fort Jackson community lined the route through post to honor Kex's service.
MWDs may not have actual boots on the ground, but you'll find them serving wherever American troops do. These are highly skilled warriors, trained by the best to serve alongside them. From May 15, 2022 to February 22, 2024, Kex served on more than 70 U.S. Secret Service Missions, a year-long combat deployment to Iraq, and countless law enforcement missions.
The bond between military working dogs and their handlers is like no other. Our hearts go out to the Soldiers of the 208th Military Working Dog Detachment, and to Kex’s handlers and long-time battle buddies, Staff Sgt. Lynch and Cpl. Connell.
