Information Systems Technician 1st Class Brian Kelley

“I look forward to seeing recruits on the drill deck in front of their families, executing that left turn with the precision that we taught them. I want to see them come around that corner and realize that everyone did their part to make it look sharp.”

Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class Kayla Sublette

“Being a fi****ms instructor, I teach recruits how to properly apply the training we provide them in Small Arms Marksmanship Training to live fire. Working with weapons is different here than in the fleet. For most of the recruits, this is the most fun they have during their entire training, so it's nice to see others motivated to learn what you're teaching.”

Chief Fire Controlman Patrick Mixon

“Being a water survival instructor is one of the most fulfilling and physically-challenging billets at Recruit Training Command. The most rewarding part is seeing the gratification from a recruit when they realize that they are going to leave RTC knowing that they have the ability to swim and survive out at sea. “

“Your attitude, perspective and ambition all play a major part in your experience. Boot camp can be a stressful environment, but it’s helped mold me into a better person. Being positive and understanding that this will all benefit me for the rest of my life has helped me put things into perspective.”
