Seniors in Greece are safer, thanks to an innovative partnership between the Ridge Road Fire District and Lifespan of Greater Rochester, which recently received national attention!

Their collaborative approach to reducing falls among older adults was recently featured by FireRescue1 following the RRFD's reaccreditation process, where the program was highlighted as a model for community risk reduction and proactive public safety.

We join the community in mourning the loss of Kenneth "Butch" Volkmar, a dedicated public servant whose decades of commitment to the Greece community left a lasting impact on so many.

Chief Volkmar's leadership, service, and friendship will be long remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the members of the Ridge Road Fire District during this difficult time.

Supervisor McCann hosted Monroe County Executive Adam J. Bello and his team at the Lakeshore Fire Department on Monday to discuss preparedness efforts and next steps in response to rising water levels along Lake Ontario.

The Town of Greece is actively coordinating with Monroe County and regional partners to monitor conditions, protect our shoreline, and ensure residents are informed and prepared.

We’ll continue to share updates as conditions evolve.
