Big news!

The park at Braddock Bay is being officially renamed “Donald J. Riley Park” in honor of former Town Supervisor Donald J. Riley, who served from 1973 to 1989. Fittingly, it was under Supervisor Riley that the Town first acquired Braddock Bay Park and Marina, along with a legacy that includes so much more. Join us as we honor his decades of service to our community on Thursday, September 17th at 11:30 AM at Lodge 1 in Braddock Bay.

Today, Deputy Supervisor and Councilwoman Amorette Miller addressed participants at the 15th Annual Warrior Benefit Concert at the American Legion Post 468 along with David DiPonzio 1st Ward Councilman, Spencer Bernard, 2nd Ward Councilman , and Rick Antelli Jr. Councilman 4th Ward. This concert benefits the Monroe County War on Terror Memorial.

The event supports the Sunny Mike Foundation under Dr. Deb Lubberts. And special thank you to all volunteers, and organizers, Mark Ostrander, Gunny and Bill Maloney for their dedication to veterans.

This year, the Town of Greece will be partnering with the American Legion to dedicate banners of Greece veterans in the surrounding area of the Legion, stay tuned!

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who have been wounded or killed while serving our nation, like Greece's own Larry "Gunny" Strassner who we honored earlier this week.

The Purple Heart is our nation’s oldest military decoration and serves as a symbol of sacrifice, courage, and the tremendous price our service members have paid in defense of our freedoms.

We are grateful to every Purple Heart recipient and to their families for their service and sacrifice on our behalf. Please join us in recognizing and honoring our nation’s Purple Heart recipients.
