Greeley Education Association Member Receives National Honor

Greeley West High School agriculture teacher Kelly Longacre has been selected to receive a national Honorary American FFA Degree.

The National FFA, formerly known as Future Farmers of America, gives this honor to those who advance agriculture education and FFA values through outstanding personal commitment. The organization works to enhance the lives of youth through agriculture education.

Longacre has been a teacher for 18 years, and has lead the FFA program and agricultural education at Greeley West, which with 325 students is now one of the largest career pathways in District 6 and one of the largest programs in the state. The Greeley FFA chapter was recognized nationally for the amount of community service hours the chapter donates in Greeley and Weld County

Longacre will travel to Louisville, Kentucky to receive the honor during an onstage presentation at the 88th National FFA Convention on Oct. 30.
