Have you been wondering how the Payroll Tax deferral affects you?

A Presidential Memorandum was issued on Aug. 8, 2020 to temporarily defer employees' 6.2% Social Security tax withholdings if the monthly rate of basic pay is less than $8,666.66 for Soldiers and less than $4,000 per pay period for Civilians.

If your rate of pay is at or above this threshold, your social security tax withholding will not be affected.

Here's the basics:

The impact of 9/11 reverberates throughout the world. That has never felt more true than today when members of the 432d CA BN Headquarters, CMOC, CAT 323, and CAT 3235 participated in multiple ceremonies in Kielce, Poland.

The Soldiers of the 432d were joined by the Deputy Commander of the Military Training Center for Foreign Operations, CIMIC Brigade Specialists’ Group Commander, CIMIC Support Group Commander. These ceremonies included: Participation in Holy Mass at the Military Training Centre for Foreign Operations in Kielce, Day of the Centre ceremony, and a commemoration dedicated to the victims of terrorist attacks where they were joined by an Honour Guard, the Kielce Police, and Fire Department.

Today we remember 9/11 and those who have sacrificed since that day. The Soldiers of CAT 3233 had a unique opportunity to show support not only for today but also to their host country.

US Embassy- Budapest and the Hungarian Red Cross were holding a blood drive in memory of the tragic events on 9/11/2001. The Soldiers of not only CAT 3233, but their partners in the Hungarian Defense Forces, came to donate. We give a special thanks to everyone who took a moment to remember this day and to pay forward the continued blessings we have in our lives.

A katonák büszkén tűzték egyenruháikra, a kizárólag a mai véradóeseményre készített speciális emlékkitűzőt! 🎖

Köszönjük a segítséget! :)

CAT 3232 along with leadership of the 432d CA BN attend an introductory meeting and tour of the Military Training Center for Foreign Operations (MTCFO). Meetings like this are important in several different ways. Not only do they allow us to meet and engage with our partners but when we are shown their history and given insight into their abilities, it provides us a level of knowledge to further the relationship. We work closely with our Polish CIMIC partners and appreciate them taking the time to walk us through their training center. Thank you to the Polish Civil-military cooperation team! We look forward to working with you closer and continuing to build a strong relationship.

CAT 3231 demonstrates how as Civil Affairs we don’t just work with other militaries, we also focus on the civilian component. A key piece of how we are successful is understanding all the pieces in an environment and encouraging cooperation through all facets. SFC Poole, Civil Affairs Team Sergeant, was able to meet with the NATO Force Integration Unit - Hungary. This was essential for the changing of responsibilities between her team and the team they are replacing. Over the upcoming months both the Civil Affairs team and NFIU will be working together towards common goals and enhancing the relationship between the US Army and NATO allies.

Members from the incoming and outgoing US Civil Affairs Team (US CAT) visited NFIU HUN today to discuss matters of common interest, including past achievements and what is planned for the upcoming months. Almost a year ago the Team conducted a CIMIC Community Joint Training at NFIU HUN for HDF CIMIC professionals, and will again be involved in the organization of the Memorial Blood Drive on September 11. The US CAT is stationed in Budapest and their mission includes working together with different military, governmental and civil organizations. Here at NFIU HUN we aim to further strengthen our relationships with different organizations, including the US CAT and are looking forward to working together with the incoming team!

A beérkező és távozó US Civil Affairs Team (US CAT) tagjai látogattak ma az NFIU HUN-hoz, hogy megvitassák a közös érdeklődésre számot tartó kérdéseket, ideértve a múltban elért eredményeket és a következő hónapokra tervezett eseményeket. Majdnem egy évvel ezelőtt a US CAT az NFIU HUN épületében bonyolította le a magyar CIMIC közösség számára szervezett összevont képzését idén pedig újból részt vesz majd a 2001. szeptember 11-i terrortámadások áldozatainak emlékére tervezett véradás szervezésében. A Budapesten települő US CAT küldetésébe a különböző katonai, kormányzati és civil szervezetekkel való együttműködés is beletartozik. Az NFIU HUN célja, hogy tovább erősítse kapcsolatait más szervezetekkel így a US CAT-tel is és örömmel várjuk a most érkező csapattal való együttműködést!

The military is all about traditions. It’s how we grow our roots deep and stay in touch with who we are. CSM North has added a new one to the 432d arsenal that our most recent Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) have been brought into the Corps with.
The NCO creed is a long standing tradition for all those who reach the rank of E5 and higher. We recite this creed in our schools that lead up to our promotion. We use it to focus us on our development to higher ranks, as well as guide our conduct with other Soldiers in our units.
We have recently started signing this creed as an agreement to our leadership that we are going to honor those words and keep it close to our hearts. It’s all NCO’s responsibilities to hold one another accountable, but your leadership signs the creed with you as a show of good faith and a reminder that those words are the ones to live by, our path forward.

(All soldiers have been quarantining together for several weeks. We have all received multiple COVID tests which have come back negative.)

U.S. Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command (Airborne)

USACAPOC(A), If you've seen the news recently, you know it's time for a reminder of current U.S. Army Reserve guidance for political activities.

Service members absolutely have a right to a political opinion, but it isn't always clear where service connection impacts expression.

When in doubt, don't go to the office water cooler - take your guidance from the SJA.

Military members may not engage in activity that may be reasonably viewed as directly or indirectly associating the DOD or any component or personnel with partisan political activity.

Major Points:
🚫 All members of the Armed Forces, including active duty members, members of the reserve component not on active duty, and retired members, are prohibited from wearing military uniforms at political campaign or election events.

🚫 Military members may not engage in any activity that may be reasonably viewed as directly or indirectly associating with the DoD, or any component or personnel of the department, with partisan political activity.

✅ All inquiries to DoD components from political campaign organizations shall be directed to a public affairs officer (PAO) for awareness and appropriate action. See DoD February 11, 2020, Memorandum for the Secretaries of the Military Departments for more information.

Soldiers of the 432d mobilized element gather for a promotion ceremony.

(Disclaimer- all soldiers have been quarantined together and have had multiple COVID tests, all coming back negative)

08/21/2020

Happy Friday! At 0830CDT, we will be conducting another promotion ceremony via Facebook live. These ceremonies traditionally take place with the families present but, being down range, we are utilizing the best tools possible to keep our loved ones in the loop! We look forward to seeing you all then.

Happy Anniversary to Civil Affairs!

Civil Affairs/Military Government was formally established as an Army reserve branch on August 17th, 1955. Subsequently redesigned as the Civil Affairs Branch on October 2, 1959, its members continued its mission to provide guidance to commanders on a broad spectrum of civil affairs activities. On October 16, 2016 Civil Affairs was established as a basic branch of the Army, which coincided with an expansion of Civil Affairs in the Active Component.

Train and operate COVID-19 prevention-smart.

It's up to you! Remember to practice social distancing and wear your face mask.

Whenever possible keep proper hygiene with 20 seconds of hand-washing and protecting one another by wearing a face mask while interacting with fellow service members in close environments when six feet of distancing is not possible.

When you know you are going to be called for duty, try to stay away from hot spots to protect your fellow Soldiers.

07/22/2020

Before the Army sends Soldiers anywhere, they have to ensure they have mastered their craft. This is to make certain the most proficient soldiers are sent down range with confidence. Soldiers of the 432d Civil Affairs Battalion did just that during an exercise at Fort McCoy.
Over the last couple weeks we have put more than our tactical skills to the test, we put our proficiency, analytical, and problem solving skills to the test as well. The last year we have spent drills training, practicing, and growing. We have improved as a unit, a company, and most importantly as individuals. This training exercise was developed to mimic real world scenarios and test our standard operating procedures for individual tasks and how we will handle the current world events surrounding COVID-19.
The exercise was well planned, thoroughly thought out, expertly developed, and executed with great success. The Soldiers of the 432d now feel confident with the deployment coming up and are ready to put the long hours of training into practice.
Thank you to everyone who has assisted in this endeavor, from the Soldiers of other units, our own full time staff, subject matter experts, and the support of Fort McCoy. @ Fort Mccoy, Wisconsin
