Howard Fire Rescue will be conducting a training burn on Saturday, June 13, along Duck Creek Parkway.

Training exercises will begin at 8 a.m., with the final burn expected around 11 a.m.

Residents in the area may see smoke, fire apparatus, emergency personnel, and a large volume of black smoke and flames throughout the morning. This is a planned training exercise designed to provide valuable hands-on experience for our firefighters.

Emergency personnel will be on scene monitoring conditions throughout the training.

For the safety of everyone involved, Howard Fire Rescue asks motorists not to stop or slow down to take photos while driving, as this can create traffic backups and increase the risk of accidents.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we conduct this important training.

🍪Did someone say Girl Scout Cookies?! 🍪

A local troop visited us recently to tour our center and see what our daily operations are like.

Tonight they graciously surprised our team with 11 cases of cookies!

Thank you for thinking of us! It made our night!

Happy 1 year workaversary to Darla!

If the seagull onesie wasn’t enough of a give away, we can always count on her for a good joke while on duty.

You may recognize her as the dispatcher who just delivered a baby over the phone!

When not at work, Darla is spending time with her wife, 2 dogs, 3 cats or is on military orders.

We thank you for your service to not only Brown County, but also our Country! 💛🇺🇸

During National Police Week, we honor the officers who put on the badge each day and answer the call no matter the circumstances, and remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

From behind the headset, we hear the chaos, the danger, and the moments that never make the headlines. We also hear the dedication, courage, and commitment it takes to serve this profession.

To our law enforcement partners — thank you for your sacrifice and your resilience.

Stay safe, and know your service is appreciated far beyond this week. 💙

Sam, or Lady Sam as we call her, is celebrating her 1 year anniversary!

Sam worked with us for 3 years prior, and after some time in Oklahoma, she found her way back to us 💛

When asked what she wants the public to know about 911 she states:
“When you call for help, we may ask you a lot of questions but it’s only because we want our responders to better understand your situation so they can assist you.”

When not at work, Sam enjoys hiking with her 2 year old Doberman, painting, or watching movies.
