A Note to Our Community đź’šđź’™

You may have heard by now that the City of Green Bay’s Office of Violence Prevention (OVP) will be sunsetting its work at the end of 2025 due to funding shortages. This also means we’ll be wrapping up this page.

While the OVP itself is coming to an end, the vision that guided our work lives on: a safer, more connected Green Bay where every person has the support and opportunity to thrive. That vision has always belonged to our community — and together, we know it can continue to grow.

We are deeply grateful for everyone who partnered with us, supported our initiatives, and showed up to create change. The relationships, strategies, and momentum built through the OVP can carry forward into 2026 and beyond.

Thank you for all of the support you have shown us. Let’s continue to build the safe and connected Green Bay we all deserve.

Do you sometimes feel like you just need someone to talk to? Someone who can just listen without judgment who might have shared similar experiences?

Join us in a safe and brave space to talk, build peer relationships, and work together through trauma towards healing. Led by Kelly, a Ho-Chunk/Menominee Nation community member and veteran with lived experience, time together will be grounded in her deep-rooted passion for building a connected and healed community. Topics may cover relationship building, grief, parenting, and more.

Healing happens in community and you are welcome in ours.

Join us Wednesdays from 12 to 1 p.m. or 6 to 7 p.m. starting on Wednesday, September 3rd. There's no commitment - show up whenever you can and we will be here.

Our friends at the Greater Green Bay YMCA are working to make sure lifesaving supplies are easy to get downtown Green Bay. Check it out next time you’re close by and let those in need know all about it!

The Greater Green Bay YMCA is proud to launch a free, 24/7 Public Health Vending Machine at our Ferguson Family branch—offering lifesaving supplies like Narcan and fentanyl test strips.

This initiative is designed to reduce harm, promote safety, and meet people where they are—with dignity and compassion.

We're also calling on local organizations to join us in this effort. We're looking for community partners to help stock the machine with hygiene items, first aid kits, and other essential care supplies.

If your organization is interested in supporting this vital public health resource, contact us at [email protected].

Together, we can make Green Bay healthier and safer—for all.
