🔥 Public Release – Residential Structure Fire 400 BLK N. High St. – 12/7/2025 🔥

At 05:03 AM on December 7, 2025, the Scioto Valley Fire District was dispatched to a reported house fire in the 400 BLK of N. High St. Engine 710, Engine/Tanker 712, and Tanker 720 responded, with Captain 701 assuming command of the incident.

Upon arrival, initial crews encountered heavy smoke pushing through the roof and located active fire in the area of the interior stairway. Due to the home’s construction, the fire had spread into the walls, complicating suppression efforts and contributing to the extent of the damage. Following investigation, the fire was determined to have been caused by a chimney fire.

All occupants safely exited the residence before SVFD’s arrival, and no civilian or firefighter injuries occurred. The home has been declared a total loss due to the extensive damage.

This election 11/4/2025 Green Camp Township Fire will have a .93 mill levy and a 1 mill levy on ballot. Both of these levies go toward general operations of the fire department. These levies are RENEWALS, NO NEW TAXES. We appreciate the continued support.

Twenty-four years later, we will NEVER FORGET. We honor the 343 FDNY firefighters and all who gave their lives on 9/11, and we stand with the countless first responders and survivors still fighting and succumbing to 9/11 related illnesses. The extraordinary rescue efforts and sacrifice made on 9.11.01 continue to shape our profession and strengthen our duty and obligation to the oath we swore.
