OFFICE CLOSURE REMINDER:
Please be advised that the GCS Office will close at 3:00 PM today, August 25, due to the large number of residents expected to attend tonight’s BOCC Meeting.

Our lobby will be used to broadcast the meeting and provide additional viewing space for attendees.

We encourage customers needing assistance to plan their visit accordingly or visit one of our three other branch locations, which will remain open until 5:00 PM.

🏆 Clay County ranks among the best in Florida!

The Clay County Tax Collector's Office ranked 3rd in the state for motor vehicle tax credit contributions through the Step Up For Students program, even though Clay County is only the 25th largest county by population.

Last fiscal year, Clay County generated $322,843.38, outperforming 64 other county tax collector offices statewide.

The program doesn't cost residents anything extra. When purchasing a motor vehicle, eligible residents can choose to direct up to $105 of the state sales tax owed on their vehicle purchase to Step Up For Students instead of having that portion sent to the Florida Department of Revenue. Those funds help provide scholarships that expand educational opportunities for Florida students.

Our branches will be closed July 2–6 in observance of Independence Day, following Governor DeSantis' State Holiday closure schedule. Because many of our services depend on the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV), state office closures directly affect our ability to provide those services efficiently. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience.

Our staff greatly enjoyed the opportunity to visit the Freedom 250 Mobile Museum during its stop at the Admin Building. Employees were given time throughout the morning to explore the exhibit, and many found it both educational and inspiring. We extend our sincere thanks to the Freedom 250 team and to all those at the County who worked behind the scenes to bring this unique experience to our county. Their efforts provided a memorable opportunity to learn more about our nation's history and heritage.
