E-BIKE/MOTORIZED SCOOTER SAFETY & THE LAW

Currently there really aren't any restrictions on where you can ride, but there are on how you ride.

Florida law requires riders to follow traffic laws and rules of the road. Riders can be cited for violations, and parents can also be held responsible when they knowingly allow a juvenile to operate without following the law.

DRIVE SOBER or GET PULLED OVER
August 19th through September 7th

Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over is the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) safety initiative to educate the public about the importance of sober driving. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over is a national high-visibility enforcement drunk-driving prevention campaign that urges drivers to understand the importance of sober driving and is supported by increased law enforcement.

We want our community members to understand that it’s our first priority to keep people safe, so we’re asking everyone to plan ahead if they know they’ll be out drinking, The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign is an awareness effort to get the message out that drunk driving is illegal and it kills. Let’s make this a partnership between law enforcement and drivers: Help us protect the community and put an end to this dangerous behavior.
