Green Lake County Veterans Service Office Our function is to inform, advise and assist veterans, their spouses and dependents in securing all possible entitlements and benefits.

All 72 counties in Wisconsin have a Veterans Service Office, per state statutes. Our function is to provide service and assistance to the veteran, their dependents or survivors. We provide assistance for all Federal and State Benefits, as well as assisting with other needs of the veterans and their dependents.

the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA), Wisconsin Educational System, Wisconsin Department of Revenue

There are different requirements to be eligible. Some programs require serving during a wartime period. Other programs are available for peacetime service. State programs require that a veteran enter into service from Wisconsin, or have lived in Wisconsin for one year. Most programs require an honorable discharge; however, in certain circumstances veterans may be able to qualify with discharges that are less than honorable. Veterans with less than honorable discharges may apply for an upgrade, depending on the circumstances in which it was received. Veterans should have their discharges recorded at the Register of Deeds office in their county of residence. Certified copies are provided free to veterans per state statutes. Discharges (DD214’s) are private documents and are not available to the public.

Please Take the Survey to Improve WI Veterans' Homes.

The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) is in the process of conducting a study to develop a framework for a master plan for all three of Wisconsin's veteran’s homes.
They have hired a consulting firm, Berry Dunn, to complete a study of Wisconsin’s veterans' homes that will provide a framework for guiding decision making for future operations and development of the homes.

BerryDunn is seeking feedback from veterans who do not presently have a relationship with our homes. The information they collect will be kept confidential and will help them prepare a more complete and useful report.

Please follow the link and fill out the survey, this will help all of WI Veterans steer how our Veterans homes change in the future.
