Green Lake Farmers Coalition has determined the date for their second field day! If you are interested in what our agricultural producers are doing to protect the county's natural resources, this field day may be of interest to you!

Our second field day is planned for June 15th, 2026! We are going to hear about this farmer's experience first year strip-tilling and what they've learned throughout this process. The field is located directly west of the County K Marsh.

See you then!

Check out this awesome event happening the first weekend in June!

Bike the Farms is more than just a ride through the countryside—it’s a way to support the future of local agriculture, community wellness, and rural connection. 🌱🚴‍♀️

Hosted in partnership with Foxhead Regenerative Agriculture Project (FoxRAP), this event raises awareness and funds for programs that support local farms, regenerative agriculture, education, community health, and sustainable food systems throughout our region.

FoxRAP works to strengthen connections among people, the land, and the food we grow by creating opportunities for education, collaboration, and community engagement. Events like Bike the Farms help continue that mission while also supporting efforts to build stronger connections around local food and outdoor recreation.

Every registration helps invest back into our communities, our farmers, and the future of agriculture.

Join us June 7th and ride for something bigger. 💚

The Native Shoreline Workshop is in a few weeks! This will be an educational and hands-on event! We look forward to seeing you🌾

We are excited to be partnering with the Green Lake Association on a Native Shoreline Planting workshop! This workshop will teach you about the benefits of having a native shoreline, and why it can be crucial in supporting our lake ecosystems!

If you are interested in native planting, water quality and ecology, or want to learn something new, please join us on Saturday, June 13th from 10-11:30AM at Sunset Park. Wear something you won't mind getting dirty as we will be actively planting.

Hope to see you there!

Leaving residue is great for your soil, partially due to these little guys! 🐞

Crop residue provides food and shelter for above-ground insects. They eat the residue and help to break it down throughout the winter, creating organic matter for the soil. Residue management is an important part of a soil health system. Leaving crop residue, strip tilling, reduced tillage, and cover crops are all components to residue management that can increase soil organic matter and overall soil health and structure.

Healthy lakes start upstream.

A new runoff management guide from Wisconsin’s Healthy Lakes program highlights simple, practical ways property owners can help reduce runoff, improve habitat, and protect water quality — from native plantings and rain gardens to redirecting water away from the lake. The guide also helps landowners better understand how water moves across their property and which solutions may work best for their site.
