Green Springs Police Department was contacted by Elerin "Bookgirl" Leppik. ELerin is a student from Europe, Estonia, studying engineering in a local university and is working her way through college. She wanted to let the community know that she would be conducting sales of educational materials both in town and in the county. Elerin has acquired a valid solicitor's permit through the Green Springs Police Departtment to sell door-to-door. If you are not interested, please say no and have a nice day

Happy Wednesday! Just had a delightful encounter with Elerin Leppik from Estonia who received a solicitor's permit to sell educational materials throughout town.. She brings the total up to 3 permitted solicitors in town: IGS Energy, Omni Fiber and her.

If anyone else comes to your door other than these 3 individuals (and they all have permits on them), please notify our agency because there was no application on file nor are they allowed to solicit without an application on file, a background check, and a permit on hand.

For those who take advantage of the home grow laws in the state of Ohio, please take note:

Section 3796.04 | Home grow.
Cultivation or growing of homegrown ma*****na takes place only within a secured closet, room, greenhouse, or other enclosed area in or on the grounds of the residence that prevents access by individuals under twenty-one years of age, and which is not visible by normal unaided vision from a public space

PENALTIES: illegal cultivation of ma*****na is a minor misdemeanor or, if the offense was committed in the vicinity of a school or in the vicinity of a juvenile, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.

Just a reminder about curfew in Green Springs:
If child is 15 and under MUST be home by 9pm unless with parent or legal guardian
If child is 16-17 MUST be home by 10pm unless with a parent or legal guardian.

Children have been out on bikes, at the park, at the school. etc well after 10pm. They have been given a one time free pass but after that parent/guardian must come to the scene for the child to get released. There could be court consequences for habitual offenders.

Please let's know where your children are. Also if child is attending a sleepover and they are out, you will still have to come and get your child and the same rules apply.
