Councilwoman Judith Dugo was first elected to the City Council in March 2014, and was re-elected in March 2018 with 69.9% of the vote. Prior to being elected, she served on various City boards and committees. Councilwoman Dugo has been a resident of District III for 26 years. Councilwoman Dugo’s was an owner of a successful High Tech Corporation in Rochester, New York. She recently retired from Gu
ardians Credit Union after serving 19 years as a Compliance Officer but still serves on their Board of Directors. She has used her financial acumen and expertise to bolster the financial health of the City and has suggested and promoted fiscal changes that save both the taxpayers and City money. The economic health of the City and its businesses has been a priority for Councilwoman Dugo since being elected. She has participated in countless city events promoting the local business community and continues to support new business opportunities for the City. Councilwoman supported and encouraged the merger of the City’s police department with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office in 2016. Statistics have shown a steady decline in crime within the City since the merger and the partnership with PBSO has proven to be invaluable. She is a proud supporter of the City’s Fire Department, one of the busiest in Palm Beach County. Councilwoman Dugo supported the use of surtax funds, to provide for new vehicles and equipment for Fire Rescue to support their operations and ensure the public safety and welfare of our residents. As the City continues to grow to more than 40,000 residents, Councilwoman Dugo has advocated for improvements to the City’s blighted medians through the installation of irrigation and landscaping to beautify the City. Additionally she asked for pickleball courts in the City to support the growing demand for them by the residents. Councilwoman Dugo serves as a member of the Palm Beach County League of Cities Educational Scholarship Committee and has served in various capacities on the Riverbridge Homeowners Association. She is a widow to a retired Army Colonel and strongly supported the creation of the Veterans Memorial at City Hall and the City’s annual Veteran’s Day event honoring all those that have served.
