The Hispanic Vote Mission: To educate, inform and engage the community with the goal of increasing Hispanic voter participation. But we knew we could not do this alone.

In 2009, a small group of civic minded Cuban Americans came to the realization that Hispanics, in Florida, needed a voice and the Cuban Americans for a Better Florida (CABF) was born. We were formed as a non-partisan group, with members from all political parties and perspectives. The CABF educated ourselves on what the Hispanic community was all about and we came to a conclusion that educating Hispanic voters regarding the local races and candidates would serve as a valuable civic service. Thus, The Hispanic Vote was born. Like the CABF, The Hispanic Vote was formed as a non-partisan group, with members from all political parties and perspectives. The Hispanic Vote endorses candidates and in the last few election cycles, The Hispanic Vote has issued numerous endorsement letters, printed hundreds of thousands of palm cards, placed numerous ads in several publications, and covered just about every polling station, across the county, in support of our candidates. In the last election cycle, 85% of candidates who received The Hispanic Vote endorsement; won their elections. The Hispanic Vote is currently in Broward County, Palm Beach County, and in Southwest Florida. We must never forget that we are Hispanic by birth, American by the grace of God and we must always practice one of our most under-utilized rights…our right to vote.

In Palm Beach County, while billionaires are granted millions in property tax exemptions, the same politicians who granted those tax exemptions, will tell you that the county will collapse if we pass Amendment 3 and receive much needed homeowner property tax relief! The County just shifted a $3M to $5M property tax burden to individual homeowners, all the while telling us that this massive upward redistribution of wealth (from the poorest to the richest) is in our best interest... just like they did in 2016! Yes, although this time it is in essence the same as it was in 2016, it is actually different (or so they say)! We are proud of Commissioner Gregg Weiss for being the only commissioner to fight for the Palm Beach County tax payer! We must bring accountability back to our local governments. Unfortunately, our local elected officials cannot be trusted to be honest stewards of our hard earned tax dollars. Vote to pass Amendment 3 in November!

After careful consideration and conducting our endorsement interviews, these candidates have earned our endorsement. We sincerely thank all the candidates who took the time to participate in our endorsement process and share their vision with us.

What a great evening! 🇺🇸🌎 Our September Community Leaders Meeting was a FULL HOUSE, and we couldn’t be more grateful! Our group continues to grow stronger, and it was wonderful seeing so many familiar faces and welcoming so many new ones.

A very special thank you to our generous sponsor, Michael Garcia, PA, for helping make this event possible, and to our moderator, Christina D'Elosua Lambert, Christina Lambert for West Palm Beach Mayorfor leading such an informative and educational discussion about the Property Tax Amendment.
