Under the umbrella of the Greenbelt Recreation fall the city's recreational facilities, aquatic programs, summer camps, art and dance classes, social and cultural experiences, therapeutic recreation (senio

r & inclusion programs), and special events. Greenbelt Recreation aims not only to enrich the individual, but to help build community.

Mark your calendar for Greenbelt Recreation's Halloween celebration in Roosevelt Center and sign up for free, fun, pre-Rumpus activities throughout October!

The Wild Rumpus will take place 4:30 - 6pm, rain or shine, on Friday, October 30, with entertainment, trick or treating with Roosevelt Center merchants, and a movie at the Greenbelt Cinema. Come see Camp Encore’s performance of Patroklos and Achilles! In Homer’s Illiad, the heroes Achilles and Patroklos, who were inseparable in life, are doomed to spend the afterlife apart. In this Camp Encore original, our heroes embark on new adventures in the Underworld, as they seek to break the curse and reunite.

Show times are Wednesday, August 5 at 1pm and Thursday, August 6 at 7pm. The location for all shows is the Greenbelt Arts Center, 123 Centerway.

Due to forecasted poor air quality and weather-related concerns, this Saturday's Walk with a Ranger program has been canceled. As important as outdoor recreation is, the health and safety of participants and staff remains our top priority.

Walk with a Ranger is scheduled to return in August, and we hope you'll join us then to continue enjoying Greenbelt's parks and natural areas together.
