Entire Suangdaw Village Is On the Verge of Being Wiped Out Due to Abnormal Pre-Monsoon Rain
Suangdaw village, which has been established over a century ago is badly hit by unusual pre-monsoon rain. Several weeks of consecutive heavy downpours caused landslides destroying many villages and towns across Chin State and other parts of Myanmar. Suangdaw has been badly affected as the inhabitants were f

orced to flee barefoot. Eyewitnesses were quoted as saying the landslides occurred near some homes were deafening and terrifying. They added that water under the earth started gushing out everywhere. The natives of Suangdaw decided not to remain in the village and have been dismantling homes for relocation. The tribal leaders are said to have surveyed a new land, where they will most likely rebuild the village. The main hydro power has apparently been destroyed by the landslide. In addition, the transportation system has been badly affected. The village is no longer accessible by car or motorbikes. The natives are currently taking shelter in a nearby village,Dolluang. The natives, who live in different parts of the world, have been organizing fundraiser activities to help out the landslide victims. Altogether 43 homes including but not limited to churches and school have been affected.
