Tennessee has seen 81 fire deaths so far this year compared to 60 last year through the same period. One fire death is one too many. We're urging Tennesseans to take fire safety seriously by closing their bedroom doors while sleeping, installing working smoke alarms throughout their homes and having an escape plan and practicing it. To request a free smoke alarm, contact your local fire department and ask if they participate in the "Get Alarmed, Tennessee!" program.

Burn Permits will NOT be issued statewide today due to high winds and low relative humidity.
The free permit is required by law from October 15 through May 15, 2018 and are only issued when conditions are conducive to safe burning. If you live inside city limits, there may be additional restrictions. Check with your municipality before you burn.

In recent weeks the Police Department has received several calls concerning items that citizens are selling on Craigslist. Checks are being sent to the sellers for more than they are asking for their item. They are then given instructions to cash this check and use the extra money for whomever takes care of getting the item to the buyer. THIS IS A SCAM!

When buying items on Craigslist, any social media site, or to an indivdual, remember to practice safety.

The Greenbrier Police Department will have an officer meet with you in our parking lot and stand by with you while you conduct your transaction to ensure your safety, if you wish. Simply call (615) 643-4467 during business hours (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM) Monday through Friday or (615)384-4911 during the evening and night hours to have an officer stand by with you.

Your safety is important to us!

Greenbrier residents -- Please rescue a gray and white kitten at the gas station at exit 98 (I65). A friend was traveling S and saw it two days ago; no one seemed to be helping it. Flea bites alone can kill it with anemia, not to mention hawks, weather ... Maybe look around for other survivors (she only saw the one). She thinks it's the Marathon station (blue/white branding) at that exit. Thank you for #StewardingWell. Thank you, Fire Dept!
Just moved to greenbrier not long ago and there is a fire pit in backyard. Do I need a burn permit for it? Or my small one?
Thanks for being awesome!
Thank you Greenbrier Fire Department for installing 7 new fire alarms in my moms house today! We feel safer already. Thank you again!! Stay safe!!! 🖤❤️🖤
Dog is lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you for coming to our VBS kick off tonight! Our kids had such a great time!
I just wanted to say. I am so very grateful for Tyler and Austin coming out today and putting in my window unit. My ac unit went out yesterday, I am 6 months pregnant and have younger children in the home. I am currently unemployed and don't have the means of getting a new unit for my home. I called them today, Monday and they came out and installed a new ac window unit for me. Thank you guys so much for your speediness and for all your help. I am very appreciative for living in a small town where people do nice things for people in unfortunate situations. Thanks again guys!!!!
