Greencastle Police Department Thanks Responding Agencies Following Critical Incident

The Greencastle Police Department would like to express our sincere gratitude to the many agencies and individuals who assisted during a critical incident that occurred on Nova Drive on the evening of May 28, 2026.

What began as a routine request for assistance quickly escalated into a dangerous and rapidly evolving situation involving an armed individual. Through the professionalism, coordination, and dedication of responding personnel, the incident was brought to a safe conclusion and the suspect was taken into custody.

The Greencastle Police Department extends its appreciation to the Pennsylvania State Police, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin County Department of Emergency Services, Franklin County Communications Center, local EMS and fire personnel, and all other assisting law enforcement agencies that responded to provide support, resources, and specialized assistance.

We would also like to thank the residents of the Nova Drive area for their patience and cooperation while emergency personnel worked to resolve the situation safely.

The successful resolution of this event is a testament to the training, teamwork, and commitment demonstrated by everyone involved.

The Greencastle Police Department remains committed to protecting our community and is proud to work alongside our public safety partners throughout Franklin County and the surrounding region.

During Police Week, three Greencastle Police Department officers were presented with commendations in recognition of their outstanding investigative efforts related to the Carl’s Drug Store robberies.

Through teamwork, dedication, and countless hours of investigative work, these officers played a significant role in identifying suspects, developing leads, and assisting in bringing the investigation to a successful resolution.

We are proud of their professionalism, commitment to public safety, and the work they continue to do for our community each day. Congratulations to these officers on this well-deserved recognition.
