July was a busy month for the Greencastle Fire Department. While many saw us at community events, our firefighters were also responding to emergencies, training, and preparing to better serve our community.
Throughout the month, we:
🚒 Responded to 173 emergency calls.
🚒 Implemented new training drills across all shifts to enhance our readiness and skills.
🎆 Covered the Fourth of July fireworks and held our annual department family cookout.
🚒 Celebrated the arrival of our new engine with a traditional Push-In Ceremony.
🍋 Hosted Lemonade & Fire Trucks in support of the Isaiah 117 House.
🇺🇸 Participated in the Putnam County Fair Parade.
🏡 Conducted several fire prevention details throughout the community.
🎡 Provided two days of coverage at the Putnam County Fair.
🎤 Helped ensure a safe Rodney Atkins concert.
👮🤝 Participated in Putnam County Community Night Out.
The success of these efforts would not have been possible without the outstanding teamwork of our firefighters and the strong partnerships we share with public safety agencies, community organizations, volunteers, and event organizers. We are grateful to work alongside so many dedicated partners who help make these events successful while allowing us to continue providing professional emergency response throughout the month.
Whether we’re responding to emergencies, training to be better prepared, or engaging with our community, our mission remains the same: To serve the citizens of Greencastle and Greencastle Township with Honor, Accountability, and Compassion.
