The Village Board officially approved the Emerald Reserve Master Plan and Design Guidelines at the May 19 Village Board meeting, marking the conclusion of a year-long planning process that included community engagement sessions, stakeholder meetings, and multiple presentations before the Village Board and Plan Commission. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped shape the future vision for this important corridor.

The Emerald Reserve Master Plan covers the entire Southridge Campus and the retail development area along the west side of S. 76th Street. The plan establishes a long-term vision for future redevelopment, while the Design Guidelines will help ensure high-quality, cohesive development and a strong identity for the area moving forward.

The Village initiated this effort to guide future land uses and redevelopment opportunities along the 76th Street commercial corridor and to help preserve the character and quality of future investment in the area. The Emerald Reserve Master Plan has now been incorporated into the Village’s Comprehensive Plan, and the Design Guidelines have been incorporated into the Village’s Zoning Code.
