Congratulations to our new police chief! π¨π
The Town of Greeneville and the Greeneville Police Department proudly announce the appointment of Captain Joshua Pierce to Chief of Police, effective June 30, 2026.
The appointment follows a comprehensive internal selection process involving several highly qualified candidates from within the Greeneville Police Department. The process was led by Jeff Stiles, Police Management Consultant with MTAS (Municipal Technical Advisory Service).
Pierce brings 18 years of law enforcement experience with the Greeneville Police Department and has served in a variety of leadership roles throughout his career. Most recently, he has served as Captain, overseeing the Uniformed and Specialized Services, providing leadership for patrol operations, investigations, school resource officers, traffic enforcement, and specialized units.
A graduate of the FBI National Academy, Pierce holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from East Tennessee State University. He is also a Tennessee POST-certified officer and holds a Level III Leadership Certificate through the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police.
