College St. The Center provides, directly and indirectly, health and social services, information and referrals, and recreational and educational programs. Transportation, city and county, is provided for age 60+ to the center and other local trips (such as grocery, Social Security, NIRC, Food Bank, doctor, drug st
ore, and others). The Center also provides nutrition as an HRA Congregate and Homebound Meal-site. The Center contributes to the quality of life for the older population with volunteer opportunities, helping them to stay mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually sound. The Center benefits all, providing access to and coordination of, services for the elderly, as well as linkage to existing support services which allow older individuals to remain independent and in their own homes. The Roby Fitzgerald Adult Center is housed in the historic Roby Fitzgerald building. This beautiful building was the site of the first public school in Greeneville in 1894. The auditorium was added in 1923 and housed The Little Theater troupe of Greeneville for many years. In 1974, the building opened as Greeneville's Senior Adult Center.
