Friday's Technology Professional Development Day was filled with collaboration, innovation, and inspiration. Thank you to Jill Pierce, Executive Director of TETA, for an engaging keynote on the role of AI in the classroom and how educators can thoughtfully leverage these tools to support student success.

SUMMER FEEDING INFORMATION FOR JULY 29-31

Families with children 18 and under are invited to attend our summer meal distributions. Each child will receive a box containing 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches for the week. Children do not have to be present.

The Greene County School System welcomed its newest teachers during New Teacher Orientation on Thursday, July 23.

The day began with breakfast provided by Consumer Credit Union, followed by music from Dennis Wilds, principal of West Greene High School. Morgan Solomon, a West Greene High School senior, shared an inspiring Thought for the Day, and opening remarks were provided by Mr. Rick Tipton, Chairman of the Greene County Board of Education, and Dr. Chris Malone, Director of Schools.

Throughout the day, district supervisors introduced teachers to the resources and support available to help them succeed. The orientation concluded with an impactful Poverty Simulation, helping participants better understand the challenges many students face. D’Lee Po***ck closed the day with a moving message, inspiring teachers to prepare every student for success.

It was a wonderful day of learning, encouragement, and preparation as Greene County Schools welcomed its newest educators.
