❤️ What started in Morristown 40 years ago has grown into so much more.

Today, ALPS serves families in both Morristown and Greeneville, but no matter the location, our heart remains the same—a place where people belong. ❤️

This video represents ALL of ALPS, the people we serve, the families we support, and the communities that have helped us grow over the last 40 years.

As we celebrate where we’ve been, we’re also looking toward the future. ❤️

40 PEOPLE. 40 YEARS. ONE FUTURE.

Will you be one of the 40?

🎉 Happy Birthday to the Boss Man! 🎂

Help us in celebrating the guy who keeps us all going, keeps us focused on why we’re here, and somehow manages to put up with all of us in the process, which honestly may be his greatest accomplishment. 😂 Happy birthday, Mahon!!

All jokes aside, your passion for ALPS, our participants, and the mission behind everything we do is something truly special. You don’t just talk about serving others, you live it. The heart you have for this organization and the people we serve is something we all see, and something we strive to carry into our own work every day. Thank you for everything you do for our participants, for our mission, and for all of us lucky enough to work alongside you. Your leadership, dedication, and heart for service mean more than we probably tell you often enough!

We hope you have the happiest birthday and take at least ONE day to relax and enjoy yourself…although we all know you’ll probably still find something ALPS related to worry about. 😂 We appreciate you more than you know! Also, this is your official documented proof that we do have nice things to say about you!🤣🎉 ❤️

🎉🥳 Help us wish this sweet man a happy birthday! Happy birthday, Leroy! We love you and hope you have the best day ever!...

For many young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), graduation day can mean more than the end of high school.

It can mean the end of the structure, routine, friendships, activities, and sense of purpose they have known for years.

And the reality is… there isn’t always somewhere to go next.

Not every person with a disability is suited for a traditional work environment. Not everyone is able to work a 9-to-5 job. And when those options aren’t the right fit, too many adults find themselves spending day after day at home—often isolated, disconnected, and without the routine they once had.

But adulthood should still be filled with purpose, friendships, activity, and community.

That’s where ALPS Adult Day Services comes in. ❤️

At ALPS, adults can once again have a place to go each day. A place where they can:

🌟 Have a consistent routine and structure
🍎 Enjoy nutritious meals and snacks
🎨 Participate in activities and recreation
🤝 Build friendships and social connections
💙 Receive supportive care and health monitoring
🌱 Continue learning, growing, and engaging with their community
😊 Most importantly… have a reason to get up and look forward to the day

ALPS isn’t just a place to go. It’s a place to belong.

There are so many conversations about what happens before graduation. We need to be talking just as loudly about what happens after.

Because every adult deserves the opportunity to have purpose, connection, friendship, and a place where they belong.

This is why adult day services matter. This is why ALPS matters.

💙 MEET THE TEAM BEHIND ALPS 💙

As we celebrate 40 years of ALPS, we want to take a moment to celebrate the people who make ALPS what it is.

Our Morristown and Greeneville teams may work in separate centers, but we are one team. We are ALPS. ❤️

This slideshow is just a glimpse of the incredible people who show up every day with compassion, dedication, and a heart for the individuals and families we serve. You’ll see their names, roles, and the years they have dedicated to ALPS.

And while we are celebrating the team we have today, we know the story of ALPS is much bigger than the faces in this slideshow.

Every person who has ever been a part of ALPS has helped make these 40 years possible. Every employee, volunteer, board member, and supporter has left a piece of themselves in the heart of this organization and helped shape who we are today.

So as you look through these faces, know that you’re looking at more than employees — you’re looking at the people carrying a 40-year legacy forward.

Different locations. Different roles. One mission.
One team. One ALPS. 40 years strong. 🎉💙

LOVE GROWS HERE. 🌱

❤️ Tennessee lost an icon. But Dolly’s story reminds us of something much bigger.

We mourn the loss of our own Tennessee treasure, Dolly Parton. From the mountains of East Tennessee, Dolly gave the world music, laughter, kindness, generosity and a legacy that will live on for generations.

But in her final years, Dolly also gave us something else — a very real reminder of what so many caregivers experience every single day.

Dolly shared that while caring for her husband, Carl, she “didn’t pay attention” to her own health. Like so many caregivers, she was focused on the person she loved and put herself second.

And that is something we see every day at ALPS Adult Day Services.
Caregivers are often so busy making sure their loved one is okay that they forget to ask themselves:

“Am I okay?”
“When was the last time I went to the doctor?”
“When was the last time I rested?”
“When was the last time I did something for myself?”

That is why adult day services matter.

It isn't about taking a loved one away from their family.
It is about supporting the whole family.

It gives caregivers the opportunity to:
❤️ Go to a doctor's appointment
❤️ Go to work
❤️ Run errands
❤️ Take a much-needed break
❤️ Spend time with other family members
❤️ Simply breathe and rest for a little while

And while their loved one is with us, they are surrounded by people who care, activities that bring joy, nutritious meals, socialization, nursing support and a community where they belong.

Caregivers deserve care, too.
Dolly spent her life giving to others. Her story is a powerful reminder that even the strongest, most giving people need someone to care for them, too.

As we say goodbye to a Tennessee legend, let's also remember the countless caregivers right here in our communities who are quietly putting themselves last.

Let us help them find their moment to breathe.

Thank you, Dolly, for showing the world that love means taking care of others — and for reminding us that sometimes, taking care of someone else also means allowing someone to take care of you. ❤️

Rest easy, Dolly. Tennessee will never be the same.
