Along with other first responders, Greeneville Public Works was out all night July 4 into July 5 clearing downed trees and debris. A severe storm blew through downtown Greeneville well after 10 pm. Crowds had already cleared from the fireworks show. Greeneville/Greene County, TN Office of Emergency Management & HLS was monitoring weather all day and into the night for the events. Approximately 14 downed trees were cleared overnight.

UPDATE: As of 2 PM Thursday, June 18, Oak Grove Road has been re-opened!

NOTICE: Continued work by Greeneville Public Works will need to temporarily close Oak Grove Road from Old Tusculum Road to New Hope Road. The closure will start at 7 a.m. on Thursday, June 18 and will last anywhere from a few hours to the whole day. We will update posts when the road is again open to through traffic.

For those who live or work on this portion of the road, local traffic will be allowed. Please enter from Old Tusculum or New Hope depending on which side of the area of work you need to access. Please see map for more details. The exact location of work is 138 Oak Grove Road.

We apologize for the inconvenience and will work to have access re-opened as soon as possible.

The closure will start at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16 and will last anywhere from a few hours to the whole day. We will update posts when the road is again open to through traffic.

Town of Greeneville offices will be closed Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day.

There will be no residential garbage collection on Monday, May 25. It will be collected along with Tuesday's collection on May 26. Commercial front-load service will run Monday as scheduled.
