January 7 issue of Greeneville Sun reported that Tennessee Tech is launching a "disability etiquette" course this spring. The course is "aimed at helping students better understand how to respectfully and confidently engage with those with disabilities." It is being taught within the College of Emerging and Integrative Studies by a lecturer who is a 100% service-related disabled veteran.

PERSONAL NOTE: While I feel this is a good step forward, I was dismayed to discover that this is an ELECTIVE course and not part of the entire curriculum.

Our college provides a unique offering of programs including undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees in a variety of fields including : Environmental and Sustainability Studies, Professional Studies, and Interdisciplinary Studies

NOTE: Starting January 1, 2026, all eligible TN residents with a disability that began before their 46th birthday can open an ABLE TN account.

ABLE TN is a program designed for TN residents with disabilities to save and invest with tax free earnings to help them maintain independence and quality of life.
