The Greenfield Police Department would like to officially welcome Officer Terrance Lawson to the GPD as our newest full-time law-enforcement officer. Officer Lawson graduated the 16-week police academy this past Friday at SWIC in Belleville. Lawson is a Navy veteran and served the area as a mail carrier in recent years.

Our community is proud to have Officer Lawson on board with the City of Greenfield. Welcome Officer Lawson, and congratulations!

❗️❗️❗️ NEW SCAM ❗️❗️❗️

Recently, I have had numerous complaints of people receiving the first image I have attached below to this post. This is a scam. The images are coming in the form of a picture message sent through text. I attached a second picture of the exact same image where I have circled numerous typos and mistakes that I have caught. NEVER NEVER send any type of payment over the phone or give anyone your personal information. If there is a traffic, criminal, or civil case that you are involved in, a law enforcement officer will personally serve you papers. They will NEVER come in the form of a text.

I urge anyone and everyone to share this and spread the word to the population that these scammers prey on the most...the elderly. If anyone has any questions or if you receive anything similar that you are unsure about, reach out and I can help determine if something is real or fake. Thank you!
