Very much enjoyed representing Hancock County Tourism at the movie Hoosiers 40th Anniversary Banquet. Screenwriter Angelo Pizzo and several Hickory Husker team members were present.

There were folks from ten different states and all across Indiana at this event tonight with several staying in Greenfield hotels.

Attendees were updated on a future release of a Director's Cut version of Hoosiers and a Documentary about the making of Hoosiers coming out in the near future.

The Hoosier Gym hosts over 80 ball games a year with teams traveling from all over the country to play there. While the gym is located in Knightstown, most of these teams...stay in Greenfield hotels!

So proud that Hancock County Tourism and Visitor Center could support the establishment of an Indiana Historical Bureau marker commemorating the life of former Greenfield resident George Knox.

The George Knox marker was erected through the efforts of the James Whitcomb Riley Boyhood Home in Greenfield. Knox and Riley were good friends.

The Knox marker was unveiled today by members of the Knox family. The marker is placed near Greenfield City Hall, which used to be the site of Gooding Tavern where Knox's barbershop was once located.

Pictured are members of the Knox Family and Tourism director, Brigette Cook Jones.
