A change of tradition for this year. We will serve hamburgers and hotdogs in front of The Corner before the homecoming parade Thursday night, October 1. We know some of you will miss the pancakes but we thought we better serve a travel friendly meal to help with crowd control and prevent too many people gathering in one place. We will start serving at 5pm until after the parade or supplies run out. The meal will be free will donation and proceeds will go to community events and projects as they have in the past. We will have the meals bagged and ready to go in both a drive through and walk by serving line.

Thanks to everyone that is helping us pull this together to offer a community meal in celebration of Homecoming.

It's important to complete the census.

Encourage your residents to take the census! It only takes a few minutes to complete. The 2020 Census will determine congressional representation, inform hundreds of billions in federal funding every year, and provide data that will impact communities for the next decade. Iowa has a response rate of 90.1% (70.5% self-reported, 19.6% from census takers) Let's get Iowa to 100%!

Shop at Colors Floral and Home Decorating this weekend to kick off you fall decorating!

Who all is ready to start decorating your porch for fall? I decided to get in something different this year. Pumpkins!! Instead of the traditional orange pumpkins I found some funky, fun, unique ones. Blue/green, pink, warty and a variety of mini pumpkins and gourds. They are super reasonably priced, so for not too much $ you can do a really nice display. Come check them out and take a few home!
