Today is National Move Over Day! It's not just a tow truck, ambulance, maintenance vehicle, fire truck or squad car on the side of the road. That operator is a mother, father, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, friend. Please if you see an emergency vehicle on the side of the road please MOVE OVER!
Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day Weekend looks a little different this year than past years. Usually our city is hosting Dan Jansen Family Festival which gives us an opportunity to celebrate and honor our heroes in person and unofficially kick off Summer. Last year we had the amazing opportunity (thanks to Dan Jansen Family Fest, Inc) to host the Vietnam Moving Wall. Although we can't see you all in person we hope that you join us and take a moment to honor and remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Home of the free because of the brave.
#MemorialDay
Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms out there! 💐

***WARNING: GRAPHIC LANGUAGE***
On Tuesday, 05/05/20, at 12:44AM in the 4700 block of South 27th Street, a Greenfield Police Officer observed a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle reported stolen through the Oak Creek Police Department. The
officer attempted to stop the vehicle and the suspect vehicle fled northbound on South 27th Street. A PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver was successfully performed at South 11th Street and West
Oklahoma Avenue. Three passengers fled on foot from the vehicle. The driver continued his reckless behavior, attempting to flee in the stolen vehicle by ramming an occupied, fully marked Greenfield patrol
squad. Fortunately the officer was not injured and continued to attempt to stop the suspect’s dangerous actions. After several attempts the vehicle was disabled and the driver was taken into custody. This case will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office at a later date.
For more information, please contact Captain Scott Zienkiewicz at (414)761‐5344 regarding case #20‐9401.

Thank you for sending forms, fixing typos, keeping track of what goes where and what's going on, placing orders, staying calm, taking calls, and just being great in every way! Happy Administrative Professionals Day! 🎉
HIT & RUN ACCIDENT - GFPD PATROL SQUAD STRUCK
*UPDATE: This has been resolved. Thank you for the assistance!*
HIT & RUN ACCIDENT - GFPD PATROL SQUAD STRUCK
On Tuesday, 04/07/20 around 10:27PM, a fully marked Greenfield Police Department patrol squad was struck while parked in the 3300 block of West Coldspring Road. Thankfully there were no injuries to any officer, as the squad car was unoccupied while the officer was investigating an unrelated complaint; however, there is significant damage to the patrol vehicle.
The striking vehicle was traveling eastbound on West Coldspring Road and is described as an early 2000s Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. There should be fresh damage along the driver’s side of the truck.
Also of note in the video is a second vehicle, which had been traveling westbound on West Coldspring Road. This vehicle had to swerve to avoid being struck by the truck. Our department is interested any speaking to any witnesses who may have been in this vehicle, or any other witnesses to this incident.
If you have any information regarding the Chevrolet Silverado or its driver, please contact Detective Birschbach at (414)761-5301, reference case #20-7760.

Holiday Clean-Up and Break Down!! With the holidays wrapping up in the next few days make sure you are doing your part to prevent theft. Get one of these fancy TVs? Maybe a new IPad? Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
Ralph here! It’s been such an adventure this holiday season and I’ve enjoyed every moment! Thank you to this generous community for the outpouring of support with the toy and food drive! I’ll definitely be reporting great reports to Santa! Well I was going to take this ride home, BUT it was super windy! So I’m using some of Santa’s magic and headed back to the North Pole tonight! Happy Holidays !!!🎅🎅🎅
This holiday season wouldn’t be as bright or merry without the amazing support of our community partners! HUGE thanks to Meijer for their generous donations for the Greenfield Shop with a Firefighter/Cop. There were 10 Greenfield School District students and 10 Whitnall School District students chosen to take part of this truly magical experience. Let’s get a round of Santa-plause for Meijer and Greenfield Fire-Rescue for organizing and participating in this event.
Drive Sober Campaign
DO. NOT. GO. TO. JAIL. I repeat, do not go to jail. Ralph here, and let me tell you, I learned a lot today at the department. I mean don't get me wrong, the jingle juice is where it's at for sure, but it's not worth driving home after a night of fun. Even if you've only had a couple of Mrs. Claus' cosmos you should definitely call for a sober ride. Did you know that if you get arrested for driving drunk it could cost you around $10,000 when it's all said and done?! I mean do you know how many candy canes I could get for that?! I could even probably buy one of Santa's reindeer, just saying. Help me keep the roads safe and drive sober or call for a sober ride. I want to continue to send Santa good reports. Don't drink and drive.
My friends here at the Greenfield Police Department will have extra patrols out for the holiday season to help keep all of us safe, so if you see them out say Hiiiiiiiiiii!!!! #RalphTheElf #HappyHolidays #DriveSober
Mutual Aid Response-Waukesha
Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when we come for you?!
We figured we would give you a little behind the scenes action of a call we assisted with in Waukesha County. Not to brag, but we have some pretty cool tech at our department which allows us to help out when needed. Waukesha was searching for two suspects in their area and were unable to locate them. Of course, we responded because why would you pass up an opportunity to use your cool new toys (and obviously there's the perk of catching the bad guys). If you watch in the video you can see our officer sucessfully locate the two suspects in a wooded area. (Hint: They are the little black blobs seen in the sea of gray) Then you can watch as officers hone in and take the two individuals into custody without incident. Pretty cool eh?!

Cyber Monday
Another day, another dollar...LITERALLY. It's Cyber Monday tomorrow and the sales continue to impress. This will probably be one of the biggest shopping days online and we want to make sure that you are shopping smart and safe. Here are a few things to keep in mind while you're shopping online.
1. Shop from a secure computer or phone. It's always a good idea to shop from your computer and not a public computer. Also, avoid shopping on a public Wi-Fi.
2. Shop with a secure network. Always look for HTTPS. The "S" at the end ensures the website is secure.
3. If you are looking for deals go to the actual retailer site and DO NOT click on pop ups and keep an eye out for social media scams.
4. DO NOT use debit cards online. Play it safe by using credit cards or a PayPal account.
5. Keep and eye on your accounts. A LOT of people are shopping this time of year and the credit card companies and banks may not always catch fraudulent activity. Make sure you keep track of your purchases and check your statements regularily throughout the holidays.

Black Friday Shopping
IT'S HAPPENING!!!!!! Black Friday shopping is already underway! We just wanted to hop on here and remind you of a few safety tips to get you through this madness safely.
1. Be aware of your surroundings! Watch where you are walking, driving and PLEASE do not take up the entire aisle with your cart in a store (it makes people angry)
2. If you're bringing a purse make sure you keep it on you! DO NOT...we repeat DO NOT leave your purse in a cart (someone will take it)
3. Keep track of what cards you are using at the checkouts so you can keep an eye out for fraudlent charges
4. Be nice. Everyone is out to get a deal and to have a good time. Don't yell at the employees who have no say in what rules stores have in place
5. Do not get involved with or start a melee. Black Friday is not for UFC practice, haymakers, or fisticuffs. Though the deals are outrageous, they aren't worth fighting over.
6. HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE!

Holiday Scam
🎁🎄"Tis the Season...for Holiday Scams🎄🎁
With the holidays in full swing, we just wanted to put a quick reminder out about possible scams hitting the market this year!
🎁 Gift Exchange Scams-- This is sometimes known as the "Secret Santa Exchange" or "Secret Sister Exchange" which basically promises you'll get showered with gifts if you just send one. Unless you PERSONALLY know the individuals involved in the exchange, STEER CLEAR!
💲 Fake Charities-- Unfortunately there are many people who take advantage of other's generosity, especially through the holidays. We absolutely want you to support your favorite charities but make sure you do your research before handing over your money!
💻 Bogus Websites--Make sure if you are shopping through a popular retailer that you are going to their site directly and NOT clicking on a pop up. Do not use external links. When checking out look for the "https" which indicates it's a secure web page.
📞 Robocalls/Aggressive Solicitation--Especially this time of year Robocalls increase dramatically. Some may be to extend your warranty on your car, scammers pretending to be the utility company,or just aggressive solicitors trying to bully you into handing over money! HANG UP! You do not need to reason with any scammer, simply hang up and block the number.
Stay safe and be diligent this holiday season! 🧐
