Today was one of those moments that reminds you why small towns are special.

Deputy Hernandez teamed up with the Dadeville Fire Department to es**rt the Dadeville Bearcats bus to the county line as the boys head to STATE.

The lights, the support, and the excitement from everyone who came out — you can feel the pride in this community. These boys have worked hard, and they’ve earned every bit of this send‑off.

Good luck, Bearcats. All of Dade County is behind you. Bring it home.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH – TUCKER

Meet Tucker, our unofficial therapy dog and the Dade County Sheriff's Office Employee of the Month.

While Tucker may not carry a badge, he serves our community in a way that can't be measured. Every week, citizens stop by the office just to see him. Whether someone is having a rough day, dealing with a difficult situation, or simply needs a smile, Tucker is always ready with a wagging tail and a friendly greeting.

Tucker has comforted crime victims, calmed nervous visitors, brightened the day of deputies and staff, and reminded all of us that compassion is just as important as law enforcement. Sometimes the best support doesn't come from words—it comes from a loyal friend who simply sits beside you.

Today, we would like to recognize Tucker for his years of dedicated service to the people of Dade County. He may not be on the payroll, but he has certainly earned his place on the team.
Thank you, Tucker, for all the comfort, companionship, and smiles you provide to everyone who walks through our doors.

Feel free to stop by and say hello. Tucker is always happy to make a new friend.

Spent the day at Buffalo Days and had a wonderful time visiting with so many good folks from around the community. Events like this are what make small towns special.

Thank you to Deputy Carrier, Deputy Churchill, and Deputy Baldwin for taking time to visit with everyone at the Dade County Sheriff’s Office canopy throughout the day. It was great seeing neighbors, friends, and families all enjoying the parade and festivities together.

The weather cooperated most of the day… until the rain showed up and the wind started sending canopies everywhere for a little excitement 😂

Days like today are a good reminder of how blessed we are to live in a community that still comes together and looks out for one another.

Last night, the Dade County Sheriff’s Office, Greenfield Police Department, and Greenfield Fire Department responded to a report of possible dynamite located near the Greenfield square. Out of an abundance of caution, portions of the area were temporarily evacuated while emergency personnel investigated the situation.

After consultation with the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office and EOD resources, the items were determined to be vintage railroad flares and not explosive devices. The scene was secured and the area was reopened without incident.

We appreciate the cooperation and patience of the public during the response. We would also like to thank Greenfield Police Department, Greenfield Fire Department, Dade County 911, emergency management personnel, and assisting agencies for their quick response and coordination.

As a reminder, if you locate old or suspicious items that could potentially be hazardous, please do not handle them unnecessarily and contact local law enforcement immediately.

Deputies Carrier & Miller at Safe Kids Day

Deputy Eric Carrier and Deputy Drew Miller spent the day with the Lockwood Optimists for Safe Kids Day, meeting kids, answering questions, and showing them a little bit of what we do in law enforcement.

Events like this are a reminder of what truly matters — connecting with our community and investing in the next generation.

Proud and thankful to serve Dade County.
