Bear Hunt - Greenfield, IA

Bear Hunt - Greenfield, IA

Greenfield friends:

Who wants to go on a “Bear Hunt”?

Let’s follow suit with other communities and entertain our kiddos during the Coronavirus. Place a Teddy Bear or favorite stuffed animal of your choice in the window of your home/business. Families will be able to “hunt” for your teddy on a walk and/or drive. I would love to see pictures!

Be Aware of the cuddly bear at 204 NE Elm St!

Have fun!

We have just been notified that our credit card processing company has shut down their call center due to the COVID-19 pandemic which makes them unable to take telephone payments.

During the time that their call center is unavailable, we will be taking card payments over the phone at 641-743-2741.

Once the call center is operational again, we will resume having payments made through the toll-free number as our normal procedure.

03/18/2020

UPDATE at 1 PM - our phone line appears to be working again. I've seen several other businesses post that they have also had issues and all incoming calls have been from Verizon customers so if you are a Verizon customer and can't get through to us on the GMU line, please call the city line. I am also available by email at [email protected] if for some reason the phone lines aren't working again.

FYI - We are currently experiencing issues with the GMU phone line (641-743-2741). We are able to call out but not able to receive calls. If you need to reach our office, please call the City phone line (641-743-2183) until further notice.

Thank you!

With the potential health concerns, we ask that anyone feeling sick to please not come to the office. It is very important that our employees remain healthy for business continuity if a more serious virus outbreak occurs. In order to reduce potential contact, we encourage customers to use the drop box if possible. If it is necessary to enter the lobby, please use the hand sanitizer located inside the doors. As always, we encourage our community to stay home if sick and do plenty of hand washing. We hope this issue ends quickly and without incident but it's important to be prepared for the worst-case scenario. GMU will continue to monitor the situation and update our customers as things progress.

GMU will be flushing hydrants the next couple days. Please be cautious driving on wet streets with the low temperatures. You may notice some discoloration to the water in your home or business during this process. Running your faucets to flush out your water lines should clear the discoloration. Thank you for your patience.
