Village of Greenfield, Ohio
WHEREAS, the Village of Greenfield has been deeply saddened by the passing of Richard Counter, a dedicated public servant who previously served as Mayor of this community; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure as Mayor, Richard Counter demonstrated steadfast leadership, commitment to the welfare of Greenfield residents, and a genuine devotion to the betterment of our village; and
WHEREAS his service and contributions have left a lasting positive impact on the Village of Greenfield and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Village of Greenfield pay formal tribute to his memory and express the community’s respect and gratitude.
NOW THEREFOR, I, Christopher Borreson, Mayor of the Village of Greenfield, Ohio, by virtue of the authority vested in me, do hereby proclaim that all village flags shall be flown at half-staff from Wednesday September 2, 2026, until sunset on Saturday September 5th, 2026, in honor and memory of former Mayor Richard Counter.
I further call upon the residents of Greenfield to join in reflecting upon his service and in extending sympathy to his family and loved ones during this time of mourning.
