Named after the Quaker poet John Greenleaf Whittier, this small and friendly town is located in the Gem state of Idaho on State Highway 19, five miles to the East of US-95 and the City of Wilder, and five miles to the West of Interstate 84 and the City of Caldwell. The community offers a welcoming presence from the Greenleaf Friends Church, the private K-12 Greenleaf Friends Academy founded in 190

9, and the local home-style Greenleaf Cafe. Our region is known for its agriculture and agricultural beauty, including row crops, fruit-bearing orchards, hops, and a variety of seed crops. Greenleaf is a quiet community conducive to a positive family atmosphere.

GARBAGE PICK-UP SERVICE ALERT - Just a reminder that Republic Services sanitation workers are on an early schedule due to summer heat. GARBAGE TOTES NEED TO BE OUT FOR PICKUP BY 5:30 AM on garbage day, or it may not be picked up until garbage day the following week. Please contact City Hall with any questions. FLOOD IRRIGATION - Flood irrigation from the city's gravity irrigation system is discouraged, especially between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 pm.. As a courtesy to your neighbors, please install a pump for more efficient irrigation and greater water availability for others around your property. One property flood irrigating can remove water availability for an entire street. Please do not choose to create an availability issue that will prompt city response.

GRASS TRIMMINGS / DEBRIS - Please DO NOT move grass trimmings or other debris from your property into the street. This material can block storm-water drainage and lead to flooding during storm events. The city may pursue citation or other penalties to discourage this activity.

GARBAGE PICK-UP SERVICE ALERT - Republic Services sanitation workers will begin residential collection service in the City of Greenleaf as early as 5:30 a.m. starting next week, to protect the health and safety of their workers from high temperatures this summer. PLEASE PLACE CARTS AT THE CURB OR ALLEY THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR SERVICE DAY OR BEFORE 5:30 AM ON YOUR SERVICE DAY. Please contact city hall with any questions. Please share with your neighbors.

Municipal irrigation water is off for the majority of the gravity flow system this morning so that the City Crew can effect repairs to the system. Irrigation will be turned back on as soon as the repair is complete, currently expected to occur this afternoon.
