Springtime in Paris?
Currently on display , these are just four of the *nineteen* drawings by Stow Wengenroth (1906-1978) that take you to that city.
Wengenroth, who lived in Greenport for over twenty years, is one of America’s greatest lithographers. His works are in the collections of most of the major American art museums, including , , and .
But he created these Paris drawings when he was only twenty years old, just as he was finishing his art training in New York, and before he’d even made his first lithograph. 🤯
They are part of a group of nearly fifty rarely seen Wengenroth works - including drawings, oils and watercolors - which are kindly on loan from the private collection of North Fork resident .
“Stow Wengenroth + The Flacks: The Greenport Group” is on display until June 14.
Don’t miss it!
