Head Start Awareness Month Spotlight

October is Head Start Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the incredible impact Head Start has made on children, families, and communities across the country.

This year, we proudly recognize 61 years of Head Start, a program that has been changing lives since 1965 through quality early childhood education, health services, family engagement, and community support.

At Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC), we are honored to be part of this lasting legacy. Every day, our dedicated Head Start staff work tirelessly to support children and families, creating safe, nurturing, and engaging environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of our Head Start staff for their commitment, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Your work makes a lasting difference in the lives of the children and families we serve. Because of you, children are better prepared for success, families are strengthened, and communities are enriched.

Thank you for all that you do to make a difference every day.
