A 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠 response has been activated in Guilford County for this weekend in response to anticipated freezing temperatures from 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐧.
The following organizations in the cities of Greensboro and High Point will open as 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 tonight through the weekend.
𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐨
• First Baptist Church, 1000 W. Friendly Ave., will provide 24-hour shelter starting tonight, Friday, January 23 at 7 pm. through 7 a.m. on Monday, January 26. The warming center at First Baptist Church will be open to single adults and families.
𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭
• 𝐎𝐚𝐤𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫, located on 2018 W. Green Dr., will open at tonight at 6 p.m. until 8 a.m. on Saturday, January 24 for women and children only.
• 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, located at 400 N. Centennial St., will open tonight at 8pm tonight, January 23 and through the weekend and daily until capacity is full. Open Door Ministries will open for adult men only.
• 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, located on 903 W. English Rd., will offer 24-hour shelter for women only on Friday, January 23, Saturday, January 24, and Sunday January 25. West End Ministries will open at 5:30pm Friday, January 23 until 8 a.m. on Monday, January 26.
