Guilford Metro 9-1-1's Deputy Director of Operations C. Moore attended the 9-1-1 Goes to Raleigh event held this week. Forty 9-1-1 professionals from across NC met with 73 Congressmen and Senators during their visit. Law makers were introduced to NC Association of Public Safety Communications Officials - NC APCO, North Carolina NENA and to the 9-1-1 professionals that serve each of their communities. This event was a resounding success and we cannot wait to see where our advocacy efforts will take us. Special thank you to: Rep. Reece Pyrtle, Rep. Amos Quick's office, Sen. Gladys Robinson and Sen. Michael Garrett's office for meeting with Deputy Director Moore. We appreciate your willingness to take time out of your day to learn about what your public servants at Guilford Metro 9-1-1 are doing to represent you. We look forward to a continued partnership with each of you.

Guilford Metro 9-1-1 is always proud to be a part of the City of Greensboro's City Academy. Each year, the participants of the program select their favorite learning experiences, and this year they selected us as the "Best Learning Experience - Small Department". We are honored to have received this recognition and are so very proud of Senior Supervisor G. Cobb who was this year's presenter.

We are ecstatic to announce that our very own Senior Supervisor K. Zimmerman received the North Carolina Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association's Supervisor of the Year award last week in Wilmington, NC. Part of her nomination is cited below:

"K. Zimmerman is an exceptional supervisor whose leadership has had a meaningful and measurable impact on her team and agency. Since becoming a Senior Supervisor in 2022, she has demonstrated the ability to create a positive, accountable, and high-performing team environment on night shift. Under her leadership, morale and engagement improved significantly. Observable changes included reduced unscheduled absences, increased peer interaction, and stronger team cohesion. At least five telecommunicators who had previously requested transfer to day shift chose to remain on her squad, many declining the opportunity multiple times. These decisions reflect the trust she has earned and the strength of the work environment she created. She leads with consistency, fairness, and professionalism. She addresses challenges directly, does not allow negativity to persist, and supports her team while maintaining high standards of performance. She has also played a key role in developing future leaders, encouraging team members to pursue advancement and succeed in new roles. In addition to her impact on team culture, she has made significant contributions to the agency’s transition to a new CAD system. She has dedicated more than 200 hours beyond her regular duties to ensure the system supports telecommunicators and enhances service delivery for Law, Fire, and EMS responders. Her leadership reflects a strong commitment to both people and performance. She strengthens her team, supports her agency, and contributes to the advancement of the profession. For these reasons, she is highly deserving of recognition as NC NENA Communications Supervisor of the Year."

Congratulations on this well deserved recognition!

We are so excited to be able to update you all on our Tree of Life progress so quickly. As before, each leaf represents a life saved by one of our Telecommunicators providing CPR instructions to their caller until field responders could arrive. The butterflies represent babies that our team members have delivered prior to field responders arriving. This truly represents the life impacts that our team make everyday! We are so very proud.
